Microneedling: Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Stimulate hair follicles to promote hair growth.

What are They

Microneedling with PRP is a cosmetic treatment that stimulates collagen production by placing fine needles into the skin and applying platelets, which are one of the components of our natural blood. The addition of PRP from the blood may make microneedling more effective. The liquid in blood is plasma, while platelets are solid.

How it Works

The use of PRP is "a great treatment option for hair loss because it has a number of scientifically based articles showing its efficacy increasing hair count, hair thickness, and the growth phase of the hair cycle. Growth factors, in a sense, play the role of messengers, signaling skin cells to function. They've been used in medicine to treat a range of health issues, including arthritis, signs of aging, etc. For anyone with thinning hair, growth factors can help stimulate the activity of the hair follicles and promote new hair growth.

What to Expect

Depending on your selected treatment area, the procedure can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 1 hour. Mild swelling, bruising and soreness may occur. You won’t see your results immediately. PRP therapy is a three-step process. Most PRP therapy requires three treatments 4–6 weeks apart. Maintenance treatments are required every 4–6 months.
